First Windows 8 & RT Fixes Coming On Tuesday

As we all know that it has not been a long time in fact a month, when windows 8 and windows RT powered surface tablet was launched. However, it has already been warned and announced by Microsoft that the new generation operating system is consisted of critical security vulnerabilities for which the patches are ready and will be coming on the following Tuesday.

Windows 8 is affected due to the flaws of windows XP including the version of Microsoft office suite and versions of windows servers.

Windows server was released on September 2012 and it requires patches to maintain the security and fixes. The latest vulnerability includes one critical security for surfaced based windows RT operating system and three critical vulnerabilities for windows 8.

These are considered critical flaws and may allow remote code execution on a vulnerable system. The remote code execution means, they will create holes in OS to enter and could allow someone to run malicious code on your PC.

Rest assured, the patches are being tested and will be delivered for Internet explorer and it will fix a flaw of attacking on your computer without your consent or whenever you browse a malicious web page. The prior version such as IE6, IE7 and IE8 which are for windows XP, will not be provided any sort of patches or support.

The latest version of Internet explorer IE10 which is for windows 8 and Windows RT machines is beyond any sort of vulnerabilities or threats as the Microsoft is aware of so far. In Microsoft office, if the user opens any malicious office documents, the machine will allow with remote code implementation. However, it depends upon the users, if he allows the system to open the malicious documents; the remote code execution will be on.

In nut shell, out of these six patches, four are being considered critical and one is important and one is moderate in nature. They all will be fixing the 19 vulnerabilities.

In spite of securing windows 8, these fixes will cover every version of windows including Windows 7, vista and XP along with the Windows server 2003, 2008 and 2012.

Windows 8 updates may be installed and viewed manually. If one wishes to do it manually, the instructions are as follows: You will need to type windows update at the start screen, then click on the settings category; lastly click on the tile for windows update from the search results. In case the windows updates don’t pops up, click on the to check updates now.

Moreover, be assured the patches will be released via as usual channels in the upcoming days or it can be downloaded from Microsoft Download Center whenever they are made available.
