markedupwindows8MarkedUp has released Analytics for devices running Windows 8. But it is expected that the company soon will launch other mobiles’ version and desktop version of its analytics.

MarkedUp CEO Aaron Stannard stated the reason behind their move to release Windows 8 phone version of analytics. He said that there existed a huge vacuum in the application programs (apps) market for premium application programs (apps) that monetize directly through sales.

According to Stannard, when he worked at Microsoft as Microsoft Developer Evangelist, he happened to work with number of application programs’ (apps) developers who were concentrating on the work of creating Windows Phone and Desktop version of popular iOS and Android application programs (apps) and none of them got a effective analytics solution.

According to Author Michael Carney, modern era is experiencing convergence of different platforms. In other words, steps are made in the direction where a single operating system along with single version of software will run on different devices.

So whether it is a smartphone or a tablet or a PC, every device will be able to run single version of an application. Windows 8 is taking huge steps in this direction and Apple along with other companies is also making progress in this direction.

For now, MarkedUp has been made available in beta version and will be totally free to use till the end of first quarterly period of the coming year (2013). First 500 developers who will register for MarkedUp service will be given 2-year free user license with no limit on its use.

Apart from this, MarkedUp service will be made available with 1 million free data points and after that $99 for every 1 million data points will be charged.

MarkedUp will allow application developers to develop more application programs (apps) for Windows 8. So the success of MarkedUp depends upon the number of developers developing application programs (apps) for Windows 8 phones. However, Microsoft is encouraging developers in this regard by giving full support.

According to a survey made, 46 of top 50 application programs (apps) available on iTunes and Google Play have Windows 8 version. Adding to it is the growing popularity of Windows 8.

Software giant Microsoft is also keenly wooing fabricators by citing numbers connected to potential market size.

During the keynote of software giant’s Build meeting, chief executive officer Steve Ballmer stated, “Our industry is reconstructing itself around innovative devices as well as services.”

Steve mentioned before he requested developers to rise to the occasion. This new world represents a chance for application developers to make one application program for all computer types. “It’s a unique market. Hoards of users are eager to purchase your application program.”

About the working of MarkedUp app, developers need to install SDK (software developer kit) into their application programs (apps) and then need to create a connection with user activities.

Once launched, the application works in the background and after an hour collected data points star to appear on developer’s dashboard.
