Splashstop makes Windows 8 metro experience possible on iPad

The Splashstop Inc. leader in cross computer computing, released its “Win8 Metro Testbed – powered by Splashstop”, a remote desktop app that allows iPad users and developers to simulate Window8 environment on their iPad. With the Win8 metro testbed developers can test native metro UI touch gestures on iPad, as they code and compile new apps for windows PCs.

With the Win8 metro testbed a window 8 app developer can avoid the extra cost of a windows tablet, which can be as high as $1000. As Apple app store rises nearly 80% of all the tablet revenue, so nearly every software developer have an iPad, with an anticipation of about 400 million new windows 8 powered devices, developers are having high expectations for a new market.

The Win8 metro testbed enables native Window 8 metro touch gestures, and ability to:

  • Swipe from right to view the charm menu

  • Swipe between left/right in IE to move between pages

  • Swipe to switch apps

  • Swipe down on an item to select it

  • Swipe form left and lack to show running app

  • Pinch to navigate files, apps, folders and data
